When I first started Candid, I had a heck of a time explaining to people what I was doing. I had a strong, visceral push of a feeling on the inside and jumble of words on the outside. Oh yeah, I also had a small little office I rented month-by-month with barely any furniture, and I was a certified wellcoach!
I went all-in to the wellcoaches ecosystem. I enlisted the support of a professional wellcoach (thank you, Christina Lombardo!). Anything Coach Meg said to read or learn went on my To Do list. If there was an entrepreneur wellcoaches member class, I took it. Erika Jackson was inspiring all of us as she translated her vision for coaches into action while she was leading the ACLM coaching interest group. In other words, I was doing a lot of listening and learning!
I was also practicing how I talked about Candid. At first, many people didn’t get it. Some people, though, listened hard. They understood and helped me refine. Moments like that can really keep you going!
