Balance… by the way You’re Not Broken

Hello there!

I see a lot of people looking for balance. Many times that sense of needing balance is actually FOMO. It looks like their neighbor or colleague has it all together and they’re being left behind. Sometimes that yearning for balance arises from neglect of things that matter. Whatever the cause, You Are Not Broken!

I’m reminded time and again how important we are to those around us. A lot of times I want to leave that desk to step away from the grind. Then I talk to a young colleague, just starting out, who wonders aloud if they can survive a few years without being burned out. Or I run into the person struggling not to get dementia. While nothing is guaranteed, we know many ways to prevent such things.

You are not broken. And you can figure out a solution that works for you. Looking for a guide to make things go faster? Let’s work together!

I close with a quote from Victor Frankl, “I consider it a dangerous misconception of mental hygiene to assume that what man needs in the first place is equilibrium… What man actually needs is not a tensionless state, but rather the striving and struggling for a worthwhile goal; a freely chosen task. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him.”
